File Compression & Encryption:

Website: WinRAR
We used the Intel X25-M SSD to provide a uniform performance base between all the boards tested in file compression and decompression.

It's not great in file compression either - the Foxconn sits at the bottom of the table in both small and large file tests, although the performance difference is very little and unnoticeable in the real world.

File Decompression & Decryption:

The two RAR archives created during the compression and encryption tests were then decompressed and decrypted.

In decompression tests where the SATA performance is more of a factor than CPU and memory alone, the Foxconn performs better - matching the rest of the boards tested here.

Multitasking Performance

Website: MPC-HC
Website: 7Zip

To run multiple applications well you need a powerful (ideally multi-core) CPU and plenty of RAM. Our multitasking test performs a massive file backup (with encryption) using 7Zip, while simultaneously playing back a HD movie file using Media Player Classic, making it a seriously demanding test for any PC.

In complete contrast to the rest of the tests, the multi-tasking one was consistently in favour of the Blood Rage by a few seconds.
